Before I start showering my emotions about this book, please see that your views might be very different about this book. This was the first Young Adult Fantasy book I ever picked. I was wandering in a bookstore about five years ago when I glanced at the cover of the book which was placed under ‘best-seller’ category and I knew it called me! I almost finished it the same day. It has been one of my favorite books and I do not think it will move away from the list. I have been reading it at-least once a year, each year!

So let’s move forward to the review!

✮*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✧*˚ How would I review it in short? ˚*✧˚*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✮

A story of determination, faith, friendship, trust and bravery. It is tale of transformation. Aurora Darlington has a life full of dullness and pain while she tries to live with her uncle. Living with a cousin and the aunt who never stop pushing her down does not make it easy for the girl. Her life turns about when she finds herself in a whole new world, locked in a dungeon.

Well, if you are a fan of fantasy books, strong female lead characters, magic and of-course a little of mystery here and there, you should definitely give this book a try. Join Aurora in finding out the reason she was caught in the dungeon.

✮*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✧*˚ What makes the book so loveable? ˚*✧˚*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✮

The book is packed with a lot of elements. Tragedy, love, hate, adventure, action, mystery, magic, magical creatures! When everything is combined together, turns out as a visual movie I would love to watch again and again. The plot is very easy to follow and while there are many characters in book one itself, it is not difficult to follow them either.

Mrs. Oomerbhoy has used the magic of her words to create a beautiful world. I am sure you would love to dissolve yourself in this world and never come out! Also, the cover is beautiful as well and while there are two different covers of the book, I love both of them!

Paperback and Ebook

✮*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✧*˚ What are the characters like? ˚*✧˚*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✮

Every character, small or big play their part in forming the whole book. Each of them play an important part to make the book so beautifully drawing! The emotions are strongly depicted and each of them are wonderfully described.

You will get detailing of every small thing about characters as you keep reading! Talking about Aurora. She is the lead character of the whole series. As the story follows, it is shown that she is a scared and timid person waiting to turn eighteen so she can enjoy the free life. But, behind the tameness are the dreams of her, which are making here look forward in the life everyday.

The people she meets do her best to help her out when she reaches the unknown world. But, will she be able to find the truth which lies behind her kidnap?

I do not like to share my favorite characters or favorite scenes from the book as it gives out spoilers about the characters and all the elements awaiting the reader’s eyes!

✮*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✧*˚ Talking about the writing style. ˚*✧˚*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✮

Flawless expression of words and just lovely imagination! I cannot stop loving the way each word is inscribed in the book. Being the first fantasy book I ever read, there were a few things of the fantasy world which were not known to me.

The book is written in first person, and is written from the point of view of the lead character. It would have been different and amazing to know the story from the point of view of different characters, but, it really does not matter.

There are enough detailing of the backgrounds and the emotions. I absolutely love the books where there are precise descriptions of the scenery, the role of people in the lead’s past and present life, feelings, the things which are running inside the mind. Just a masterpiece!

✮*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✧*˚ Why did the book make it to my favorite list? ˚*✧˚*•̩̩͙✧•̩̩͙*˚✮

When ‘The Last of the Firedrakes’ was published, in 2015, there were not many books in fantasy genre. The books like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson were there, but, there were not other series or books falling into the same category. Let’s say atleast that was the scene from where I buy my books. So, when I first read this book (I still have not read HP), it just caught me! I was not able to put it down. The characters were alluring, it was like a movie to me and I had fun.

I strongly recommend this book to everyone who loves fantasy!
