What can I say about this book! It is super fun to read. I finished the book almost in a day. With a lot of action, there is an equal amount of humor. I like reading serious books but once I finish them, I need something to life the mood up. On the other side, this beauty is a fun addictive read in itself. There is no seriousness (trust me I love that.). I mean, I myself would not like to be serious all the time.

Samira is not-so-normal as in wanting to and trained to become a spy. She is not the perfect girl and her emotions are pretty similar to a normal person. A character one can easily relate to! She is brave, confident, helpful and funny!

Well, I noticed that a lot of research has been before the book came out as one. Not only the plot-line intrigued me, the details about everything that occurs around the characters amuses me as well. Being a spy book, the details about the surrounding, like, what the eyes of the spy sees is something which plays an important role and Mrs. Rao has done that task very well!

The teenage-spy-syndicate aka The Spyders is a great group as well. It has girls who are masters of different fields which can help the spying agency. What I found a bit sad is there were no guys in ‘The Spyders‘. I know that everything would have been different, but, it would have been fun as well! Not that I complain about the group being all-girls, just putting my point of view that it would have been amazing as well!

Location: The book is set in Mumbai, India. There are mentions of different places of the city. It was very new for me to read a book set in India. I must admit, I loved it!

Writing Style: Writing in a very simple language. The plot is very easy to follow and remember.

Characters: Diverse characters, diverse emotions. Really good lead-character development. Supporting characters are extremely well written as well!

Rating: ★★★★.5 on 5 stars!

I am very thankful to the author, the publisher and tour organizer for sending over the copy to me! The review is completely honest and written from heart.

Apeksha Rao fell in love with words very early in life. While other kids of her age were still learning to spell, she was already reading her older brother’s books and comics. She wrote her first story at the age of seven and submitted it to Tinkle, a very popular children’s magazine.

Writing took a backseat, as she established a thriving medical practice. But Apeksha rekindled her love affair with words, while on maternity leave. She would tap away at her keyboard while rocking her twin babies to sleep, as sleep deprivation stimulated her dormant creativity. She wrote numerous short stories, that she published on her blog. Apeksha has been lauded for her taut and gripping stories, that always come with a twist at the end.

In addition to Along Came A Spyder, she has written The Itsy Bitsy Spyder, a prequel novella to the Spyders series.

A Mumbaikar, born and bred, Apeksha comes from a family of doctors. At the ripe age of thirty-four, she wound up her practice and moved with her family, to Bengaluru. She is now a full-time writer. She is also a die-hard foodie, who’s still trying to find the best vada-pav in Bengaluru. She has twin boys, who keep her on her toes. Apeksha’s husband is her inspiration to write, as well as her biggest critic.
