A few talks + Top Five of Everything || End of the Year Talks!

Hello Everyone! Just ten days and the year ends. Oof, I remember swearing at the year when the lockdown started but now as it is ending, I see that I’m actually very grateful to this year. Why!? Well, I would have not made a website of my own if the lockdown and “everything closed” scenario had not happened. So, this one day, I was randomly scrolling through my facebook feed and I came to know about a month known as NaPoWriMo, literally like on 31st March, I read about NaPoWriMo and I found that if you have a website, it is better to like share stuff and all. And I made this, Musing of Souls.

While I was opening my website, I had no idea what to name it and suddenly this name rounded about in my mind and I knew, this was something I wanted. At first, like when the NaPoWriMo ended, I thought of shutting this website down until next year. Now, I’m relieved I did not. As the world was in quarantine, I decided to pursue back my passion of reading. For a long time, I have not been able to read anything at a constant pace and I had read almost all the books which were stacked in my cupboard.

And, that is when it started, my journey towards being a book blogger. I have come across so many poets, so many book bloggers and it is just a lovely community. Thank you all of you for being a part of it.

So, what I have decided to do today, I’ll write out my top five of everything, at a few places there will be more than five (’cause you know somethings are hard to choose in-between.) I’ll be stating some of the best books, best songs, bloggers, poets that I have come across including with that five good things that happened to me during the last year. I hope you all enjoy this short (eh, long long) post!

Starting with the music I loved this year:

I keep listening to songs and I will now put some songs which I’ve heard the most and the ones which have become my recent favorite!!

5. Mad At Disney by Salem Ilese – A new favourite, I just love the lyrics of this song.
4. Dangerously by Charlie Puth – You will always find a Charlie Puth song in my lists.
3. willow by Taylor Swift – The aesthetics of the song, just wow!!
2. High Hopes by Panic! At the Disco – Need some uplifting, listen to this!
1. Lovely by Billie Eilish and Khalid – just listen to the lyrics, trust me.

Let’s dance to the tune of music and walk over to some books!

Now this is something you all know I love to talk about! I am not sure if you have seen the reviews of all these books on my blog but here we go!

The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein

This has been one of the best read of the year! Oh, I just loved it so much. Actually, this is a retelling of Frankenstein but I do not think you need to read the original version to understand this one. I really really love this one! I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys dark fantasy, re-tellings.

Well, I received an ARC for this book. A great book for mystery lovers. The plot is spine thrilling. I am so sure you would love this if you are a fan of thriller. Also, it has the concept of true crime podcast!

Oof! The horror this book contains, I cannot describe it in words. I am supposed to leave a review for this, (I’m so sorry Chad), but I’m running busy on my schedule! Well, if you are a fan of gothic fiction and horror stories, just read this once.

Now, if you remember (somehow), I did not like this book when I started reading it, but the ending almost had me in shock. How can the ending be like this! Oh my god, such good endings is what I crave for. Do give it a try if you’re taking my suggestions.

For the last book of this, I still have next 10 days! and i’m hoping the book will be filled up by a book from read-a-thon.
